The Meeting

This one day workshop will highlight recent advances in modern numerical methods applied to nonlinear industrial problems. In particular the one day meeting will focus on high order methods, temporal doman parallelisation methods, and multi-scale applications. There will be expository talks on time domain parallelisation, computational aeroacoustics, and industrial requirements of distributed and parallel technology.

Expository talks:
1. Space-time parallel Methods: from Waveform Relaxation to the Parareal Algorithm. Prof. Martin Gander, Universite de Geneve.
2. An overview of distributed and parallel computer applications in industry. Dr. Jez Smith, ESI Ltd.
3. TBA

Objectives

This one-day workshop aims to provide expository lectures and latest research work on modern numerical mathematics for nonlinear industrial problems. It also provides an opportunity for academic researchers to interact with industrial practitioners who are involved in numerical solutions of nonlinear multi-scale applications.

Call for Papers and Participation

Abstract deadline: 28/02/2010. One page of abstract in .doc file or latex file + its pdf to be sent as an attachmemnt of an email to Prof. C.-H. Lai

Notification of acceptance: 08/03/2010.

Registration: On or before 01/04/2010.

Journal publication: Papers presented at the workshop will be invited to submit to Journal of Algorithms and Computational Technology for review and publication. See also http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/mscp/jact.

Fee

There is a small charge of £20 per person to cover various organisational work and lunch.  Participants who wish to arrive on Wednesday evening 14th April may wish to contact local hotels directly to book accommodation.
